Permanent roofline lighting and landscape lighting
One install, then the house is lit every night of the year and no ladder ever comes out again.

Permanent roofline lighting
Permanent lighting is a track of individually addressable LEDs fitted under the eave and wired back to a controller. It sits flush and reads as trim in daylight. At night it does warm white for most of the year, then colour on the nights you want it. The reason people buy it is simple: nobody climbs a ladder in December again, and nobody takes anything down in January.

Why the transformer sizing matters
Most failed landscape lighting was not installed badly, it was installed to exactly the load it started with. Add three fixtures two summers later and the far end of the run goes dim. We size the transformer and the wire gauge for where the yard is heading, which costs very little on day one and saves the whole run being pulled up later.
Act 03 — The Answers
It depends almost entirely on linear footage and how much of the roofline you want covered, plus how the eave is built and where the controller and circuit can go. A front elevation only is a much smaller job than a full wrap. We quote on site after measuring, and we will tell you if covering less of the house gets you most of the effect.
Properly installed low voltage lighting is designed to. What fails is usually the install rather than the fixtures: shallow buried runs cut by an edger or a plough, connections that were not made watertight, and transformers mounted where snow piles against them. Fixtures also need to sit high enough that they are not buried by the first real storm.
Permanent lighting is installed once, wired to its own circuit and controller, and stays on the house year round. In daylight the track reads as trim. It does warm white for ordinary evenings and colour for holidays, all from an app or a schedule, and nobody goes up a ladder in December or takes anything down in January.
